The Poor in Spirit

"God blesses those who realize their need for him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is given to them." (Mat 5:3 NLT)

Traditional spirituality can be debilitating. The Bible did not say that "God blesses the poor just because they are poor." But as it turned out, people have this idea that it is spiritual to be poor. And so it became: the poorer you are, the more spiritual you are.

A Way Out of Poverty and Lack

"Give, and you will receive. You will be given much. Pressed down, shaken together, and running over, it will spill into your lap. The way you give to others is the way God will give to you." (Luke 6:38 NCV)

 

The world says to hold on to what we got. But the Bible asserts that we give, and then we’ll be given more. The world says that the rich should give to the poor. However, the Bible affirms that all should give - even the poor.

Generosity is an escape from the trap of financial crisis...

The Principle of the Seed


1. God starts with seeds

Then God said, "Let the earth produce plants--some to make grain for seeds and others to make fruits with seeds in them. Every seed will produce more of its own kind of plant." And it happened. The earth produced plants with grain for seeds and trees that made fruits with seeds in them. Each seed grew its own kind of plant. God saw that all this was good. (Gen 1:11-12 NCV)
